“It’s not about knowing all the gimmicks and photo tricks.
If you haven’t got the eye, no program will give it to you.” -David Carson
Carmen’s initial inspiration for creating art came from her father, a talented artist, who during his lifetime “beautified” many Catholic churches on the Slovenian coast with his artistic skills. While at the college Carmen immersed herself in a study of art by visiting museums in Italy, Greece, Turkey and France. After her move to the United States, she began her graphic design career in California in 1997 where she completed her graphic design studies at Woodland Hills WVOC. Her meeting with David Carson, considered by many to be one of the world’s most influential graphic designers, ignited her creative juices, encouraging her to dive deep into her graphic design career. She has provided solutions to a diverse group of clients from the field of yoga, meditation, healing and the beauty industry.
As Carmen likes to say: “Why just build an image when we can build a relationship.” It is her passion to create inspiring visuals and help others to succeed. Carmen operates her freelance design studio from her residence in Woodland Hills. To the observant visitor, it is evident that her at home workspace is not only comfortably functional but also serves to demonstrate some of her spiritual design concepts. Meeting clients, listening to their vision, observing the process of ideas unfolding and creating intuitively is truly a joy for her. Carmen has established an expansive portfolio of design skills, including branding identity, designing logos, flyers, postcards, business cards and product packaging, as well as crafting cd covers. Carmen produces work mainly for print media although her designs can also be used for her client’s website.
